Awantipora . A one-day capacity-building workshop on the Use of High-Performance Computing in Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing was today organized at Islamic University of Science and Technology. The workshop organized under the aegis of the Dean Research in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and Technology and Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (CIED) was sponsored by the Directorate of Skill Development of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office Islamic University of Science and Technology here, the program aimed to enhance the competence of the participants in the fields of Deep learning, Artificial intelligence, Machine learning, and High-Performance Computing (HPC) was attended by the officials and officers of Skill Development Department (Polytechnic sector Jammu and Kashmir).
The program was inaugurated by Prof. Shakil A Romshoo, Vice Chancellor IUST who in his address talked about IUST cloud as a model for optimum sharing of resources across higher education institutions and promotion of E-learning by leveraging different service models. He said that such capacity-building programs not only help in achieving the objectives of National Education Policy 2020, but are also critical in creating skilled human resources.
Besides technical sessions, hands-on training on the IUST cloud HPC facility was provided to the participants.
