Dir Fisheries reviews preparation for rolling out HADP

Kulgam : In order to review the preparations for roll out of Holistic Agriculture Development Plan (HADP), Director Fisheries, Mohammad Farooq Dar (JKAS), also holding the charge of Mission Director HADP visited District Kulgam and interacted with the officers & officials at ongoing training programmes under HADP at Govt Degree College Kulgam.
The Mission Director highlighted the importance of the Holistic Development Plan of agriculture and allied sectors in the J&K for economic growth and prosperity of the farming community.
He stressed upon the officers to take advantage of the training programmes for efficient implementation of the Development plan on ground.
Director Fisheries later conducted extensive tour of District Kulgam to review the Developmental activities of Fisheries sector being taken under various schemes. He was accompanied by Joint Director Fisheries Kashmir and other officers of the Department.
During visit to Trout Fish Farm at Chancer, Director interacted with fish farmers and also distributed fish farming equipments among the fish farmers covered under PMMSY Scheme.
The fish farmers were advised to transform their units on modern scientific lines to enhance their production.
The fishermen on the occasion raised their concern regarding various welfare schemes being implemented by the Department of Fisheries and social Welfare Department.
The adverse impact of unscientific mining on fish and fisheries was also reviewed and the Director assured that all the demands of fish farmers and fishers will be addressed in a time bound manner.
Director Fisheries also inspected the Trout Hatcheries and Medium RAS being established in Private sector under PMMSY Scheme.
The officials also paid a visit to Trout Feed Mill which is first of its kind in the J&K established in private sector. The entrepreneur was advised to supply quality feed to the farmers at reasonable prices.
