3 drug peddlers arrested in Sopore & Bla, contraband substances also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested 3 drug peddlers in north Kashmir’s Sopore and Baramulla districts and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of PS Tarzoo at a checkpoint established at Chankhan Sopore, intercepted a suspicious person identified as Zahoor Ahmad Shah S/o Ghulam Muhammad Shah R/o Arampora Sopore and during searches recovered from him 1.26 Kgs of charas concealed in a bag following which the accused has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that in a similar action in Baramulla alsoa police party of PS Baramulla during patrolling at Main Market Baramulla, arrested two drug peddlers identified as Adil Ahmad Sheikh @Adil Channa S/o Altaf Ahmad Sheikh & Adil Ahmad Sheikh S/o Javid Ahmad Sheikh, both residents of Dewanbagh Baramulla, Police in it’s above referred statement further said that during searches 230 grams of Charas was recovered from their possession after which the said accused were shifted to police station where they remain in custody, adding therein that cases under relevant sections of law were registered in respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.
In the concluding of the above quoted statement Police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
