Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has seized 2 tractors and also arrested 2 drivers in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on charges of their involvement in illegal extraction & transportation of minerals.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party of PS Pattan under the supervision of SDPO Pattan, seized 2 tractors and arrested their drivers identified as Tanveer Ahmad Bhat S/o Mohd Akbar Bhat & Manzoor Ahmad Wani S/o Ali Mohd Wani, both residents of Wanigam Bala at Dargam Nallah Palhallan, for their involvement in illegal extraction & transportation of minerals.
Stating that d a case under relevant sections of law was registered at PS Pattan and investigation has been initiated, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law but also appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
