Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has arrested four drug peddlers and also recovered contraband substances from their possession in Central Kashmir’s Budgam District..
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on receiving inputs about the concealing of narcotic substance by one Abdul Hamid Mir S/o Abdul Ahad Mir R/o Badran in his house a police team from Police Station Magam raided the specific house and during searches recovered 1KG & 800 Grams of Charas like substance in powdered form from the house after which the said accused was arrested on the spot and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that in a similar action in Baramulla district also a police party under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by SHO PS Sheeri at a checkpoint established at Fatehfarh Crossing Sheeri arrested two drug peddlers identified as Arbaaz Ahmad Khan S/o Riyaz Ahmad Khan R/o Cheradari & Fasil Mehraj Mir S/o Mehraj Ud Din Mir R/o Zandfaran from whome100 grams of charas like substance was recovered during there personal checking, adding therein that the said accused were arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Police in it’s statement furthermore said that Police Station Zainapora also received inputs about the concealing of contraband likes substance by one person namely Sameer Ahmad Ganie S/o Mohamad Yousf Ganie R/o Dhobi Mohalla Zainapora in his residential house at Zainapora. Stating that a Police party deputed from PS Zainapora alongwith concerned Executive Magistrate raided the said house and recovered 18.5Kgs of Charas like substance from the possession of the above named accused involved in the commission of crimes after which he was arrested on the spot and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
In the concluding para of it’s statement Police said that cases under relevant sections of law were registered at respective police stations and investigation has been initiated. Police in it’s statement also said that efforts shall continue to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
