JKAACL organises first ever Mega Folk Music & Dance Fest at Sawjain

Poonch : The Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture & Languages (JKAACL) under the guidance of Secretary JKAACL, Bharat Singh and with the active support of Indian Army 40 RR and School Education Department conducted a first ever mega Cultural event at Government Model Higher Secondary School Sawjain.
Chairman Block Development Council Mandi, Shamim Ganai was the chief guest whereas Principal Government HSS Sawjain, Anwar Khan was guest of honour on the occasion.
The program was started with the welcome address by (SOCA) JKAACL Rajouri/Poonch, Dr Alamdar Adam. He underlined the importance and revival of folk music, dances and folk Lore type activities in cities and also for the people of far flung areas especially for younger generation. He said that our younger generation should be engaged in cultural, literary activities and also in the field of sports so that drugs addiction and other anti social activities could be discouraged.
BDC Chairman, Shamim Ganai in his address appreciated the working of JKAACL for organising such progra He thanked Secretary JKAACL for conducting such cultural and literary activities in Peer Panjal Region. Ganai also lauded the working of JKAACL Rajouri/Poonch.
Artists from Srinagar, Budgam, Jammu and from Peer Panjal Region presented folk dances besides the local traditional artist who performed Dhol beating, local singers presented folk Lore and Bait also.
Principal Government Model Higher Secondary School Sawjain, presented vote of thanks to JKAACL Rajouri Poonch, Indian Army especially 40 RR, the artists, PRI members, BDC Chairperson, locals and teaching fraternity. The proceeding of the programme was conducted by Pardeep Khanna.
