Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that a militant associate linked with LeT militant associate was arrested by it in a joint operation with security forces Baramulla district from whom incriminating materials and ammunition was also recovered.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar police said that while acting on specific inputs Police alongwith security forces (29 RR and 2nd Bn SSB) at a checkpoint established at Singhpora Pattan, intercepted a person who tried to flee from the spot after noticing the joint party but was tactfully apprehended and during searches incriminating materials, ammunition including 71 AK-47 rounds were recovered from his possession. Stating that the said accused has been identified as Ali Mohammad Bhat S/o Gh. Rasool R/o Bonichakal Arampora Pattan, Police in it’s statement further said that during preliminary investigation, it came to fore that the accused was working as militant associate with LeT militant outfit, Stating therein further that a a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pattan and investigation has been initiated.
