ADC Jammu reviews arrangements for Navratri festival

Jammu: Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sandeep Seonetra on Tuesday convened a joint meeting of officers of various departments to review the arrangements for smooth celebration of Navratri festival here Tuesday at DC Office complex.
Threadbare discussions were held on various issues including sanitation, uninterrupted electricity, ensuring of regular and safe drinking water, security arrangements, traffic management, decoration of temples, adequate stocks of ration and fire wood check on the rates and quality of food ite
ADC emphasized on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in and around the temples and decoration of important temples and directed the concerned departments to promote social message on sanitation.
He asked the Police authorities to provide adequate security arrangements at temples.
The ADC called for interdepartmental coordination and impressed upon functionaries of concerned departments to put in place all necessary arrangement well in time for the smooth celebration of the festival.
He asked the PHE Department to ensure uninterrupted water supply and also instructed Power Department to ensure proper lighting arrangements in addition to un-interrupted power supply throughout the festival.
ADC directed the Traffic authorities to ensure proper management of traffic wherever required during the event and place proper signboards for the convenience of the devotees. He asked the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs authorities to keep check on the rates and quality of food items being sold during the festival.
Health Department was directed to keep sufficient provision for medicare facilities and medical staff.
ACG Manisha, Deputy Director Information, Dr. Vikas Sharma, senior officers from Police, Security Traffic PHE, PDD, JMC besides representatives of religious organisations were present in the meeting.
