DC Kathua chairs preparatory meeting for LG’s Spl Governance camp for WPRs

Says “Distt admin to also hold Mega Youth Awareness Camp on Mar 19”

Kathua : Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Pandey chaired a meeting of concerned officers at the DC office complex to finalise arrangements for LG’s Special Governance camp for West Pakistan Refugees (WPRs).
The camp is scheduled to be held on March 19 at Government Middle School, Chak Sheikhan.
During the meeting, the DC emphasised the importance of the camp and called upon the stakeholder departments to make appropriate arrangements for saturating the benefits of schemes/services of respective departments during the camp. He also called for mobilizing field functionaries to spread the word about the holding of LG’s Special Governance camp so that maximum families of West Pakistan Refugees (WPRs) can avail the benefits of the camp.
The departments, including ICDS, Social Welfare, School Education, Polytechnic, ITI, Industries, Banks, Youth Services and Sports, KVIB, JKEDI, JKRLM, Employment & Counseling Centre, DUDA, Himayat etc, were directed to undertake proper hand-holding of all eligible beneficiaries from the families of West Pakistan Refugees (WPRs). This is to ensure that the objective of uplifting their socio-economic conditions can be achieved.
Regarding the conduct of Special Youth Awareness Camp by District Administration during LG’s Governance Camp, the DC impressed upon the officers to showcase the success stories of the beneficiaries during the camp. This is so that the youth can get inspired by their success and avail self-employment opportunities being offered under different departmental schemes and programmes of JK and Government of India.
The DC directed ACR Kathua to organise camps at block level in concurrence with Block Diwas so that maximum benefits can be extended to target groups, i.e., West Pakistan Refugees (WPRs), who are widely spread in the district.
Various officers attended the meeting, including PO, ICDS, CPO Kathua Uttam Singh, the District Social Welfare Officer, AD DECC, ARTO, LDM and other concerned officers.
Pertinently, the government is organizing Awareness Camps under the title “LG’s Special Governance Camp for at different locations of Jammu province. This is to provide them with various facilities of different schemes provided by the Central and the J&K Government.
During the camp, several government departments will register and saturate the West Pakistan Refugees (WPRS)under various schemes and programmes being implemented by the Government. This primarily focuses on Skill Development, Self Employment, Social Assistance, Studies, Sports, Financial Inclusion and likewise so that the benefits of the same are also provided to all those eligible under nor
