ZSWB celebrates Int’l Women’s Day at Bla

Baramulla : Zila Sainik Welfare Board (ZSWB) Baramulla in collaboration with District Administration celebrated International Women’s day at Sainik Welfare Office, Baramulla.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue Peerzada Mumtaz Ahmad was the chief guest on the occasion while as Zila Sainik Welfare Officer Commander (Retd) Girdhari Lal was the guest of honour.
Large number of Veer Naris (War widows), Widows and dependent Girl children of veterans i.e. Ex-servicemen from Army, Navy and Air force were present in the event.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue addressed the gathering and touched upon the aspects of women empowerment, rights and gender equality. He assured the women present about the resolution of all issues of Veer Naris (War widows), Widows and their dependents on priority.
Sainik Welfare Officer briefed the women about the history of the day and theme for the year 2023 i.e. “DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality”. He covered the organizational role and area of responsibility of the Sainik Board, Baramulla.
The Veer Naris (War widows), widows and their dependents were also apprised about the commencement of the construction work for the Hostel for wards of Ex-servicemen/ Martyrs at Peer Bagh, Srinagar which is likely to be completed in one and half year.
Girdhari Lal also informed the gathering that the case for allotment of and for construction of Permanent Office cum Sainik Bhawan at Kanispora, Baramulla for the Sainik Board is presently under consideration with the Secretariat.
The issues of Veer naris and Widows pertaining to documentation, pension, Identity cards, police and property were noted for early resolution.
Later, a felicitation ceremony was organized during which the ACR felicitated and honored Veer Naris (War Widows).
