Member Rajya Sabha Er Gh Ahmed Khatana visits Rajouri, Assesses developmental scenario

Rajouri : Member of the Rajya Sabha, Er Ghulam Ali Khatana, visited Rajouri to take a comprehensive review of the progress in the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes Friday. The visit was aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of the schemes and identifying the gaps that need to be addressed to ensure their successful implementation.
During the visit, Er Ghulam Ahmed Khatana met with officials from various departments and reviewed the progress of schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA), the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) and the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
He also reviewed the progress on PMGSY, agricultural schemes, PWD projects, education sector and other departments and asked the concerned officers to work with added zeal to meet the developmental expectations of the general public.
Er Khatana discussed the Tribal Sub Plan in the district and advised for rational distribution of the funds. He also directed PHE officers to ensure proper drinking water facilities to the rural as well as urban populations.
While taking note of the child labourers working in the district, the ALC was directed to conduct survey of the child labour in the district so that effective measures can be taken to curb the exploitation of children and tackle the growing incidence of child labour.
The MP revealed that the purpose of his visit was to evaluate the progress of different schemes and to make sure that the intended beneficiaries were benefiting from them. He expressed satisfaction that numerous schemes were being effectively implemented in Rajouri, which were proving to be beneficial for the people.
He urged the officials to ensure that the schemes are implemented efficiently and transparently and the benefits reach the last mile.
The MP Rajya Sabha also emphasised the need for close coordination between various departments to ensure the smooth implementation of the schemes. He stressed the importance of creating awareness about the schemes among the people and urged the officials to conduct regular monitoring and evaluation to identify the gaps and address them promptly.
Er Ghulam Ahmed Khatana also assured the people of Rajouri that he would work closely with the central and state governments to ensure that the benefits of these schemes reach the intended beneficiaries. He urged the people to take advantage of these schemes and contribute to the development of the region.
The MP also appreciated the efforts of District Administration Rajouri in facilitating the physically challenged in providing the UDID cards which is requisite for availing pension.
Moreover, he discussed about the menace of drugs in the society and urged all the stakeholders to work in tandem to eradicate this menace from the society. He also stressed upon the importance of creating awareness among people about the ill effects of drugs. He further said that only by working together can we tackle this problem and create a better and healthy society.
