LMD conducts market checking at Shilwat, B’pora

Bandipora : Legal Metrology Department (LMD) Bandipora on Saturday conducted market checking in Shilwat and adjacent areas of Sumbal sub-division.
The team under the supervision of Assistant Controller inspected the Shilwat and adjacent areas to check the violation of legal metrology laws.
During the inspection, more than 25 establishments were visited and 9 shopkeepers were found violating the Legal Metrology laws. The defaulters were booked on-spot and a penal sum of Rs 3500 was imposed against them.
Officials said during the inspection 10 shopkeepers got online verification for their weighing and measuring instruments.
