Employment Survey to start on pilot scale at G’bal

Says, “Survey aims to set priority based targets for self-employment & skill dev schemes”

Ganderbal : A meeting to finalize the modalities to start the Employment Survey on pilot scale in District Ganderbal was on Friday held here under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir.
The survey has been proposed to start on pilot scale in Sonamarg B Panchayat initially. In the pilot survey, District Skill Committee shall note down all the obstacles which may be faced, drawbacks of the proposed data points before scaling it up to all Panchayats of the district.
The DC took assessment of the Youth Clubs members who will be responsible to conduct the survey in the district. The youth club members of Sonamarg B pannchayat were acquainted to each and every data point that need to be collected in the survey and directions were passed to District Skill Committee to modify the survey form so that every member can easily understand the questionnaire and quality data is collected.
The DC directed planning sub-committee of District Skill Committee to translate the questionnaire into Urdu also and start the survey as soon as possible.
Shyambir maintained that by Employment Survey, District Skill Committee aims to estimate the accurate employment rate so as to prepare the District Skill development Plan and District Employment Plan as per the requirement. By this survey District also aims to identify the targets and set the priority based targets for self-employment and skill development schemes, he added.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development Ganderbal, District Statistical and Evaluation Officer, Members of District Skill Committee, Block Development Officer, Gund, Sarpanch Gram Panchayat Sonamarg-B and Youth Club members of Gram Panchayat Sonamarg- B.
