Bandipora: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Friday conducted an extensive tour of Bandipora town to review the developmental activities besides getting feedback about the services being provided by the government in different sectors.
Dr. Owais inspected the ongoing works at Children’s Park Kaloosa and was briefed about the status of works. He directed the officer to expedite the works so that it can be thrown open for the public as early as possible.
Later, the DC also visited the Auditorium being constructed in the premises of Nadim Memorial Govt Boys Higher Secondary Kaloosa.
Dr. Owais asked the executing agency to ensure that the auditorium is the state of the art asset in the town with all necessary facilities available. He said the town is lacking a dedicated space where it can hold conferences, seminars, debates, and other literary, educational, and social activities, and this auditorium shall fulfill the need to a larger extent.

Later, the DC halted at Gulshan Chowk where traders had assembled to meet him.
Traders informed the officers about various issues and grievances, including non availability of water ATMs in the town, washrooms, drains, lack of staff in district hospitals, and other issues regarding the town.
The DC while addressing the traders assured them that all their grievances shall be looked into in a phased manner.

He also assured that this year, a slaughterhouse and parking complex will also be completed.
The DC was accompanied by SSP Bandipora, Lakshay Sharma; President MC Bandipora, Basharat Hussain; Joint Director Planning, Imtiyaz Ahmad; Nodal officer coordination, M A Hakak; Tehsildar Bandipora, Dy CEO, Exen R&B, and other senior officials of the district.
