Baramulla : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested a person in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district for his involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals case and also seized a vehicle.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party under the supervision of SDPO Kreeri Altaf Ahmad assisted by In-charge PP Wagoora PSI Sameer Ahmad seized a vehicle (Tractor) and arrested a driver at Ningli Nallah Wagoora involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Stating therein further that the accused has been identified as Muneer Ahmad Dar S/o Nazir Ahmad Dar R/o Shrakwara Kreeri.
Stating that it has accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Kreeri and further investigation has been initiated, Police in the concluding para of the above quoted statement warned that peeople found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
