DDC Chairman Udhampur reviews extension of mobile connectivity to uncovered areas

Chairman DDC Also reviews forest clearance cases, functioning of post offices

Udhampur : District Development Council Chairman, Udhampur, Lal Chand on Thursday convened a meeting of BDCs, DDCs and other senior officers of various department to review the extension of mobile services in uncovered areas, functioning of post offices and forest land diversion cases in the district.
PCCF J&K, Dr Mohit Gera, DDC Vice Chairperson, Juhi Manhas Pathania, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Krittika Jyotsna, APCCF, Jammu B.M Sharma, CF East, B Mohan Das, PGM BSNL J&K, A K Angural, ADDC Ghan Shyam Singh, ADC, Mohammad Syed Khan, CPO, Mudassir Yaqoob Zargar, DFO, Rushal Garg, BDCs and DDCs attended the meeting.
Threadbare discussion were held on various aspects related to improvement in mobile connectivity, extension of mobile services in uncovered areas, functioning of post offices and forest land diversion cases related to roads, Jal Jeevan Mission scheme in Udhampur district etc were discussed in detail.
While addressing the meeting, Chairperson DDC sought status of forest land clearance cases in the District and directed the concerned to immediate disposal of pending cases. He added that the main objective of the meeting was to address the PRIs grievances regarding removal of bottlenecks in execution works of different schemes in the district.
Chairperson also enquired about the latest status of pending Forest Clearance cases and called for making collective efforts to remove the bottlenecks and other hindrances to ensure that development projects be completed in a time bound manner. He directed concerned officers to submit cases on fast track basis in a time bound manner so that these projects are completed well in time.
PCCF J&K briefed the meeting about the forest diversion land cases in the district and also made aware about the Forest Conservation Act, 1980. He informed that the meeting was an immediate follow up on the issues related to forest land diversion raised by public representatives during the recent visit of the Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate change and Minister of Labour and Employment Government of India, Bhupender Yadav to Udhampur.
During the meeting, PGM BSNL J&K, apprised the Chairperson DDC about the present scenario of telecom services in the district Udhampur. He added that 98 uncovered mobile services locations have been identified in the district so far. He also briefed about the status of BSNL 4G saturation project like FTTH, Utilization of Bharat net network etc.
