DC Kulgam reviews progress on implementation of ABDP

DC asks BDOs, other concerned to register young volunteers for formulation of Youth Clubs

Kulgam : In order to review the progress made with regard to implementation of Aspirational Block Development Programme (ABDP) in Manzgam and D. K. Marg blocks, a meeting was held on Monday under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, here.
At the outset, the DC took a detailed sector wise review of the activities being carried out by the concerned Departments in both the Blocks under ABDP based on 10 performance indicators covering various aspects of Poverty, Health, Nutrition, Education and Basic Infrastructure development of the concerned Block.
The DC exhorted upon the officers of line departments to work more efficiently to bring improvements on key indicators of development in these two nominated blocks of the district.
He further asked the concerned Departments to adopt best practices to get tangible results on ground in a time bound manner.
The DC directed departments to achieve 100 percent saturation of individual beneficiary schemes, besides, covering the scope of other welfare schemes of different departments.
During the meeting, an effective mechanism for timely collection of data and other aspects of APDP for Aspirational panchayats was also discussed.
The DC instructed BDOs and other concerned to register young volunteers for formulation of youth clubs. He said these Youth Clubs provide an opportunity for the young generation to contribute to society and achieve self-growth under Mission Youth initiative.
As energetic and vibrant partners of Panchayats and District Administration, these clubs are ensuring that governance effectively reaches to the grassroots level, DC added.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, Showkat Ahmad Rather; ADC, Viqar Ahmed Giri; JDP, Zahid Sajjad; ACR, ACD, Mohammad ACP, CMO, Ex.Engineers of Jal Shakti, REW and PDD, Dy.CEO, BDOs and other officers.
