Anantnag: The Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr Basharat Qayoom on Saturday took a district-wide review of the Rural Development Department at the DC Office complex, here.
At the outset, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Anantnag, Riyaz Shah presented the progress of works under various heads including Centrally Sponsored Schemes such as MGNREGA, SBM, PMAY G, and Finance Commissioner grants, as well as works taken up under PRI grants.
All works were reviewed block-by-block with the concerned BDOs and AEs, who highlighted progress and expected timelines for completion.
Dr Basharat emphasized the importance of saturating financial expenditure, noting that the present fiscal year is in its last leg and all works must be completed both physically and financially. He also stressed the need for strict quality management and social audit of completed works.
The DC further pressed for interdepartmental coordination and directed the ACD and ACP to resolve any interdepartmental issues immediately. He also called for increased IEC activities to ensure the goal of polythene-free and garbage-free panchayats are achieved.
The meeting was attended by the ADDC, JD Planning, ACD, ACP, Executive Engineer, REW, BDOs, and AEEs, among others.
