Women SGHs collaborating in agro Processing, packaging business in Doda

DC interacts with members of different Groups virtually; offers to run Canteen in Distt administrative Complex

Doda: Deputy Commissioner, Doda, Vishesh Mahajan on Friday virtually interacted with members of Women Self Help Groups and Staff of JKRLM here from his Office Chambers.
The interaction was joined by 2080 women SHG Members from over 34 locations from across the District along with concerned Block Programme Managers.
The DC took a detailed review of the initiatives and thematic progress (Saturation, Financial Inclusion, Livelihood initiatives, Formal & Non-Formal initiatives) of JKRLM in the District.
Interacting with the Lakhpati Didis of JKRLM, whose annual income has reached above Rs 1.00 Lakh, Women achievers, Digi Pay Sakhis, Bank Sakhis and Award Winning Cluster Coordinators associated with JKRLM Doda, the DC appealed them to encourage other women also to join the economic activity.
The meeting was organised to streamline the coordination of the line departments with JKRLM for better results and sorting out issues faced by the community at the ground level.
The JKRLM is being implemented across all the blocks of District Doda having 3093 SHGs, covering 21467 members. 1162 SHGs have been created during the current financial year against the target of 1359 SHGs with 86.13% achievement.
During current financial year, Rs. 13.80 Crore has been disbursed to the SHGs across the District. Further, 63 Digi Pay Sakhis have been identified and 03 Business Correspondents have been engaged through J&K Bank Ltd in the District.
As many as 258 enterprises have been established under Manufacturing, Service, and Trading Sectors, while 2400 Mahila Kisans have been trained in Agro ecological practices, 300 in livestock management. Likewise 2100 Agri Nutri Gardens and 4 Custom Hiring Centres have been established with the support of 111 Krishi Sakhis & Pashu Sakhis.
The DC Doda reiterated for extending support to SGHs in the existing livelihoods by the concerned line departments enabling them to compete in the market with high success rate and high income generation. The DC stressed on the self-sustenance of SHGs and the involvement of Nari Shakti in every sphere. The DC also offered a space to the women SHGs if anyone interested to run a Canteen in the DC office complex.
The inputs and directions through ADDC & Doda for the every possible support and hand holding of JKRLM team at the ground level from the Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, needs a special mention.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Doda, ADC Doda, ACR Doda, ACD Doda, CAHO Doda, Chief Agriculture Officer Doda, CHO Doda, DIO Doda, Assistant Director planning, Assistant Director Fisheries Doda, and District Programme Manager, JKRLM.
