SKUAST-(J) hosts one week Entrepreneurship Skill Dev Prog

Jammu : Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice-chancellor, SKUAST–Jammu as the Chief Guest, on Friday inaugurated a one week Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme under NAHEP-IDP-SKUAST-Jammu.
The Vice Chancellor in his address motivated the students to participate in various activities and programmes conducted under NAHEP-IDP. He also mentioned that students are the next generation global leaders.
Prof. Ganai said that special attention needs to be given to the fact that start-up ideas should be technically feasible as well as economically viable. He also urged the students to pitch their ideas for receiving grant—in-aid under the RKVY-RAFTAAR project which is already functional in SKUAST-Jammu.
Earlier Prof. B. C. Sharma, Head, Agronomy and Principal Investigator, NAHEP-IDP welcomed the guests and participants and also gave an overview of the NAHEP-IDP project. Prof. Rakesh Nanada, Director Education SKUAST -Jammu in his remarks brief about the various challenges and how to tackle them to become a successful entrepreneur.
During the inaugural Wall Hanging calendar in Hindi under the project funded by NABARD exclusively for vegetable growers of intermediate and temperate areas of Jammu division was also released, The Calendar prescribes complete practices for the cultivation of vegetables along with scientific recommendations.
Vice Chancellor congratulates Dr. Anil Bhat, P.I and his team for preparing a vegetable calendar for the farming community. Prof. Shabir Ahmad Wani, Dean, Faculty of Horticulture, SKUAST-Kashmir, Prof. Jyoti Kachroo, Director P&M, Head AEABM, Prof. S.E.H Rizvi, Dean, Faculty of Basic Sciences, Prof. Manish Kumar Sharma, Head Statistics and Computer Science, Prof. Gurdev Chand, Head Plant Physiology, Prof. Sanjay Guleria, Head Biochemistry were also presented during the programme.
The programme was attended by more than 30 students. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr. Anil Bhat, Organizing Secretary. He also briefed the dignitaries about the programme. At the end, formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr.Vivak M. Arya, Co-Organizing Secretary of the programme.
