BGSBU organizes Road Show to create awareness of India’s G20 Presidency

Rajouri : As a part of various events being organized by Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University related to India’s G20 presidency, Environment Sciences, Centre for Biodiversity Studies organized a road show here on Thursday. The roadshow was organized under the outreach program of UGC, ‘ University Connect’ to create awareness among the students regarding India’s G20 Presidency.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office BGSBU here, Professor Akbar Masood, Vice Chancellor Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University while interacting with students on the occasion said, ” India’s G20 presidency is a momentous occasion in our history. This occasion gives us an opportunity to place priorities and narratives on the global agenda “. Professor Masood further emphasized that during the G20 Presidency of India, our students will also be ambassadors of our country in showcasing to the visiting G20 members the rapid and inclusive development that India is going through. Professor Masood appreciated the efforts of the department and organized refreshments for the students.
Dr A. A. Shah, Dean School of Biosciences and Biotechnology stated that through the UGC-University Connect programme, students will be engaged in order to create awareness for the G20 summit, its presidency, and how India can emerge as a role model for the globe. Dr. Shah also spoke about the importance of the G20 Presidency and how India can be a role model for the rest of the world through its G20 Presidency of healing, harmony, and hope.
Dr Shreekar Pant, Coordinator, Centre for Biodiversity Studies and Dr Danish Iqbal Raina, Deputy Director, Centre for Hospitality and Tourism flagged off the Road Show.
Dr Pant while speaking on the occasion emphasized that, this outreach programme, UGC-University Connect has been aimed to project our youth as cultural ambassadors and initiate an action plan and undertake suitable activities under the ambit of India’s Presidency on G20 across the region.
