4 drug peddlers arrested, Contraband substances recovered in G’bal, B’pora , Kulgam: Police

Srinagar : Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested four drug peddlers in Ganderbal, Bandipora & Kulgam districts respectively and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Police parties of district Ganderbal led by Incharge PP Shadipora and Incharge PP Nagbal under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Ganderbal arrested two drug peddlers during naka checking at Goundroshan and Rangil respectively, Stating therein further that during their searches Charas like substance were recovered from their possession identified as Gulzar Ahmad Peer @Chorma S/o Gh Rasool Peer R/o Gundroshana and Javid Ahmad Kumar S/o Habibullah Kumar R/o Rangil.
Stating that in a similar action in Bandipora also Police established a checkpoint at Rakhi Shilwat and arrested a drug peddler alongwith 2.1Kgs of Charas Powder like substance., Police in it’s statement further said that the arrested drug peddler has been identified as Mushtaq Ah Dar R/o Rakhi Shilvat Mustafa Abad.
Police in its above statement further said that in Kulgam also, a Police party led by SHO Police Station Yaripora during naka checking at Matibugh arrested a notorious drug peddler identified as Muneeb Ahmad Bhat S/o Bashir Ahmad Bhat R/o Berigam, Qazigund and during searches recovered 5.96 grams of Heroin like substance from his possession.
Police in it’s above referred statement also said that all the arrested drug peddlers have been shifted to respective police stations where they remain in custody,Stating therein further that the cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigation has been also initiated.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and reiterated that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly under law.
