Police organises Cyber Crime awareness Progs in Sopore

Srinagar : Police on Wednesday organised Cyber Crime Awareness Programs at all Police Stations of Police District Sopore.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar the participants included respectable citizens, youth and students of PD Sopore were briefed about various types of cyber threats/crimes such as identity theft, credit card fraud, data stealing, cyber stalking, pornography, OTP frauds, cyber terrorism, E-mail Spoofing etc.
On this occasion, the chairing officers advised the participants to adopt safe browsing habits, to avoid suspicious websites while surfing the internet. They also appealed the participants to not share OTPs or Bank Account Details and Passwords. During the event, the officers also explained the ways to adopt precautionary measures while conducting Internet Banking and online transactions. The Participants on this occasion were also cautioned against accepting friend requests from unknown persons or chatting with unknown persons on social media.
Besides, the participants appreciated the efforts of Police for organising cyber awareness programmes and spreading awareness about various cybercrimes among the common masses.
