Drug peddler arrested in Ang, psychotropic substance also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Anantnag and also recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that while acting on a specific inputs a police party from Police Station Anantnag at a checkpoint established at Momin Abad Anantnag arrested a drug peddler identified as Muzamil Ahmed Bhat S/o Mohammad Akbar Bhat R/o Arwani Bijbehara, Stating therein further that during checking 1200 bottles of Codeine phosphate were recovered from his possession following which he was shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that it has accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Anantnag and further investigation has been set into motion, Police in the concluding para of the above quoted statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
