DDC Kupwara reviews RDD schemes

Says “Over 1500 works completed under MGNREGA”

Kupwara : In order to review the progress of developmental works being implemented under Rural Development sector in Kupwara District, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex hereon Tuesday.
At the outset, the DDC took a detailed review of different schemes being executed under the RDD sector in all Blocks of Kupwara District.
On the occasion, the DDC directed the Officers to prioritize implementation of all Government sponsored schemes so that targets are achieved in time with tangible results on the ground so that people are benefited with these schemes.
He directed the RDD officers and field functionaries to redouble their efforts to ensure cent percent saturation of all the deliverables under the programme in all Panchayats of the district.
The DDC also reviewed physical and financial progress made under MGNREGA 2022-23 and was informed that as many as 2343 works were taken up during the current financial year and out of them 1500 works have been completed with expenditure of Rs 5.42 crores material component(MC) and 51.95 crore Labour component (LC).
District has achieved a record of 26.08 lac man days which consists of 151 percent against the target of 17.26 lac.
It was informed that out of target 48505 soakage pits 47502 soakage pits were taken up, out of them till date 35250 soakage pits have been completed.
Under Amrit sarovar 661 works of construction and renovation of waterbodies related works were taken up out of them 464 are completed and work on 197 is going on.
While reviewing the Area Development Fund 2022-23, It was informed that as many as 1650 works were approved, out of them 1540 were tendered out with allotted cost of Rs 29.20 crore and 719 are physically complete.
Total release for the ADF was Rs 26.08 crore and an expenditure of Rs 15.17 crore has been made till date.
While reviewing PMAY (G), it was informed that 3446 cases of PMAY (G) were approved out of them 3317 have received 1st installment, 2370 have received second installment, 1291 have given 3rd installment.
The DDC stressed the officers to carry forward the tempo of work with added zeal and dedication to sustain the achievements.
DDC asked the officers to prioritize convergence works and some notable works like beautifully designed playfields, construction of one Anganwadi centre in every village, passenger sheds, waiting places on roadsides and other important places, like schools, beautification of panchayat ghars, beautification of parks, water places, construction of toilets at public places particularly roadsides, tree plantation, construction of fountain towers, entry points at important places.
The meeting was attended by ADC Kupwara, Gh Nabi Bhat; Joint Director Planning, Abdul Majeed; ACD Kupwara, Hilal Ahmad Mir; ACP Kupwara, Shabir Ahmad; Executive Engineer REW, BDOs of all Blocks of district and AEEs.
