DC Kishtwar holds stakeholders meeting to discuss modalities to organise first of its kind “Kishtwar Idol” & Sinthan Festival

Kishtwar : With an aim to revive the Cultural ethos, values and uniqueness of district Kishtwar and to promote the local talent, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar Dr. Devansh Yadav on Wednesday held an interactive meeting with concerned Officers, local artists, prominent citizens and private stakeholders of Kishtwar and discussed the modalities to organise “Kishtwar Idol”- a talent hunt programme for local Artists of the district and upcoming Sinthan Festival.
At the outset, DC apprised the participants that District Administration is mulling to rollout “Kishtwar Idol”- a talent hunt programme which will provide a platform to the local Artists to showcase their talent.
During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held wherein different stakeholders were asked to provide suggestions for the conduct of talent hunt programme under the name and style “Kishtwar Idol” and Sinthan Festival.
The Suggestions and feedback were received from the artists, prominent persons of Kishtwar and DC said that a comprehensive plan will be formulated to make the programme a grand success.
DC Kishtwar also urged the officers of Kishtwar Development Authority and Tourism Department to rope in the more private stakeholders, local artists besides PRIs in the formulation of a plan for conduct of talent hunt programmes in different regions of District Kishtwar with much focus on highlighting the traditional and folk art and culture of these areas.
DC Kishtwar also directed to constitute a Musical Club which shall identify the organisation plans, screening of artists, prepare logos and musical band etc.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned to ensure that multi-farious activities are conducted during Sinthan festival.
He said that poetic fest, local cuisine and display of stalls of locals products shall be part of the festival.
CEO KDA Inderjeet Singh Parihar was directed to ensure the elaborate arrangements be in place well in advance.
On the occasion, the participants were urged to encourage the local artists to participate in the ongoing “Kishtwar Gift Making” Competition and submit their gift packs to promote the local products in a unique manner.
All the participants hailed district administration for these novel initiatives to promote the tourism and traditional culture and talent of the District.
Among others the meeting was attended by ADDC Kishtwar Sham Lal, ADC Kishori Lal Sharma, SDM Chatroo/CEO Kishtwar Development Authority inderjeet Singh Parihar, SDM Marwah Dr. Mohsin Raza, DPO Kishtwar Sunil Bhutyal and District Information Officer Kishtwar Dr Kuldeep Kumar besides others.
