3 drug peddlers arrested in Kulgam, Sopore , Contraband substances & cash also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested three drug peddlers in Kulgam and Sopore and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Qazigund at a checkpoint established near Navyug Tunnel Qazigund arrested a drug peddler identified as Tazeem Khurshid Mir S/o Khurshid Ahmad Mir R/o Mirdanter Anantnag, Stating therein further that during searches 320 Spasmo Proxyvon Plus capsules were recovered from his possession following which he was shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that in another action, a police party of Police Station Kulgam while patrolling in village Shurat arrested a drug peddler identified as Hilal Ahmad Lone S/o Mohd Ramzan Lone R/o Hangir Yaripora and during searches recovered 5 grams of Brown Sugar from his possession, Police in it’s statement said that the accused was later shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Police in iit’s statement furthermore said that in Sopore also, a police party of PS Dangiwacha arrested a drug peddler identified as Rayees Ahmad Sheikh S/o Ghulam Rasool Sheikh /R/o Shogpora Tragpora Rafiabad, and stated further that during searches 10 grams of Brown Sugar and cash Rs 56,400 (believed to be proceeds of narcotic crime) have been recovered from the possession of the said accused who was later shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Police in it’s statement also said that cases under relevant sections of law were also registered at respective police stations and investigations were also initiated.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement Police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood but warned that peeople found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
