DC Kulgam reviews implementation of Self-employment schemes

Kulgam : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat on Monday convened a meeting of officers of different departments to review the implementation of self-employment schemes.
During the meeting, the DC took extensive scheme wise review of cases sanctioned under Mumkin, Tejaswini, Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and other self employment oriented schemes.
Officers of concerned departments apprised the DC about the status of coverage of beneficiaries under various self-employment schemes of their departments.
The District Sheep Husbandry Officer informed the chair that under ISDS, 80 units were established in the district by the Sheep Husbandry department.
General Manager DIC informed the chair that under PMEGP, 548 cases were sponsored and so far 344 cases have been sanctioned.
District Officer, KVIB apprised the chair that under JKREGP, 58 cases were sponsored, out of which 43 stands sanctioned.
Under the MUMKIN scheme, it was given out that 159 vehicles were provided to beneficiaries and under Tejaswini 19 vehicles were provided to beneficiaries in the district.
Officers from Women Development Corporation informed the chair that 70 cases have been sanctioned and an amount of 1.60 crore is to be disbursed among these beneficiaries soon.
During the meeting, the DC also reviewed implementation of self employment schemes by Handicrafts and Handloom, Horticulture, Fisheries and other departments.
The DC exhorted the officers to ensure maximum coverage of unemployed youth of the district under different schemes and directed them to work in close coordination and help the youth in getting enrolled under various ambitious schemes.
Earlier, the DC took a review of the Social Welfare department. During the meeting, DSWO apprised the Deputy Commissioner that under State Marriage Assistance Scheme, 2104 applications were received, out of which 1328 cases were forwarded for payment.
Among others, ADDC Showkat Ahmad Rather, GM DIC, Bashir Ahmad, JDP Zahid Sajad, CAO, DSHO, DSWO, AD H&H, DO-KVIB, and other district heads of various departments were present.
