ADDC B’pora reviews progress of PMGSY in the Distt

PMGSY completes 107 Kms roads last FY, 37 Kms constructed this year

Bandipora: The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Bandipora, Ali Afsar Khan on Monday chaired a meeting to review the status of projects being executed by PMGSY in different parts of the district.
The meeting was attended by DDC Vice chairperson Kousar Shafiq, DDC members of Tulail, Gurez, and Aloosa besides, Executive Engineer and AEE of PMGSY.
ADDC sought physical and financial status of all works under different stages of PMGSY in the district and reviewed the progress.
The meeting discussed threadbare at least 30 projects under execution in the district.
Officers informed that at least 37 kms have been constructed this year out of the total target of 64 kms in the district. It was also informed that 107 kms were constructed during the last financial year.
The meeting was further informed that under PMGSY-I and II, the government had sanctioned construction of 177 kms of roads in the district at the cost of Rs 142.36 crores. They said till date 107 kms have been constructed adding to the web of roads in far flung areas of the district including in Gurez valley.
ADDC sought details about roads from Neeru to Sikander (6.7 Kms), Bilinpora to Ketson (13 Kms), Peer bathoo to Chandaji (6 Kms), Dawar-Tuulail road (11Kms), Authwatto to Labkachal (14 kms) and Malangam to Malangam Gujerbasti (9.56Kms)
It was informed that PMGSY has completed more than a dozen major road projects during the last two years in the district and 08 major road projects are presently under execution.
The ADDC directed the concerned officers to start the works again with the improvement in weather so that targets are achieved.
Khan directed concerned Tehsildars and PMGY to jointly visit the areas and resolve the issues at earliest. He directed the concerned to resolve all issues early and ensure completion of all road network projects within stipulated time.
While applauding the work of PMGSY in previous projects, the ADDC asked the Ex. Engineer PMGSY to regularly monitor all road network projects for maintaining quality and standard of works.
