Srinagar: Police on Monday said that it has arrested four accused persons and also seized 4 vehicles from their possession who were involved in illegal extraction, mining and transportation of minerals case in Central Kashmir’s Budgam District.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Chadoora during patrolling at Aalipora Chadoora intercepted four vehicles (Tippers) bearing registration numbers JK03J-6145, JK03C-8254, JK04B-055 and JK13A-0470 carrying illegally extracted bed material from Nalla Shaliganga Chadoora, Stating therein further that all the four tippers were seized and four drivers of the said vehicles were arrested on spot.
Stating that the accused have been identified as Abid Hussain Bhat S/o Maqbool Bhat R/o Chadoora, Gulam Muhammad Wani S/o Abdul Kabir R/o Kakawring Charar Sharief, Younis Farooq Yatoo S/o Farooq Ahmad R/o Nagam Chadoora and Shabir Ahmad Bhat S/o Gulam Nabi R/o Dooniwari, Chadoora, Police in it’s statement further said that the accused have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody, Stating therein further that a case vide FIR No. 25/2023 under relevant sections of laws was registered at Police Station Chadoora and investigation has been also initiated.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement Police warned that people found indulging in illegal extraction/mining activities shall be dealt with as per law but appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
