Srinagar: Police on Saturday organized a one-day workshop titled ‘Learning disorders and management’ under the aegis of civic action programme (CAP) at DPO Budgam. The event was hosted by Ms. Insha Hassan (Incharge Drug De-addiction centreBudgam).
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar the workshop was presided by SSP Budgam Tahir Gilani along with other officers and was attended by 25 teachers from various Government schools of the district. During the event, the resource persons who participated in the workshop included DrAijazSuhaf Psychiatrist, Government Medical College Srinagar, Dr Mudasir Hassan Faculty, Government Medical College Baramulla, Junaid Ghayas Psychologist, Health Services (J&K).
In his address Dr Aijaz highlighted the various types of learning disorders, their identification and the treatments available. Besides, Dr Mudasir gave a lecture on remedial measures and the role of all stakeholders especially teachers in handling such cases, while Dr Junaid outlined the causes and needs of affected children and students. SSP Budgam during his concluding remarks gave a thrust on the role of schools in helping pupil with learning disorders to prepare them for today’s competitive world. On the occasion, certificates and momentos were also distributed among participants and speakers.
