Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has seized illicit timber in Baramulla district and also arrested 3 accused persons involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Uri under the supervision of SDPO Uri Showkat Ali arrested three persons identified as Mohd Rafiq Poswal S/O Umer Din, Ishtiyaq Ahmad Thakria S/O Mohd Sageer and Ab Hamid Poswal S/O Mohi-u-Din, all residents of Gowhallan and recovered illicit forest timber measuring about 45 CFt from their possession at Gowhallan Uri.
Stating further that it has accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Uri and investigation has been initiated to ascertain the facts, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement said that it’s consistent actions against anti-social elements shall continue and re-assured the people about the initiatives taken by it to keep society free of crime. Police on this occasion also resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities.
