JSW lays foundation stone of 150 crore steel plant in Lassipora

Pulwama : JSW Group, formerly known as Jindal South West (JSW) has laid the foundation of a steel processing unit in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Chairman and Managing Director of the Jindal group, Sajjan Jindal laid the foundation stone of the industrial estate Lassipora.
“Proud to announce that we have laid the foundation stone for our New Steel Processing unit in #Pulwama – the heart of #Kashmir ! Contributing to the growth of the beautiful state of #JammuKashmir.” Sajjan Jindal twitter.
While announcing the foundation, Sajjan Jindal was praised and welcomed for taxing this step.
“This step is commendable and will prove to be a pioneer in making Kashmir progressive,” an official said.
He said that this allotment was on 23 October 2021 and main activities of the group will be colour coating, galvanizing, steel coating profile, corrugated sheet and smart doors of around 2 lakhs per annum.
The group will invest Rs 150 crore to set up a 1.2 lakh metric tonne colour-coated steel manufacturing facility in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that around 72 kanals of land (8.75 acres) has been provided to JSW Steel Limited in Pulwama’s Lassipora industrial area to set up a Rs 150-crore steel plant.”
He added that the group has already submitted a premium of 4 crore and 32 lakh and have already completed fencing work.
He said that this large scale industry unit is expected to give jobs to hundreds of youth and work on the unit is expected soon.
Earlier group has committed to setting up a state-of-the-art colour-coated steel manufacturing facility of capacity 1,20,000 metric tons per annum along with special lines
They said that sandwich panels and steel doors will be manufactured at the unit for the local market and that it will benefit local businessmen and create employment opportunities as well.
Notably, J&K government had claimed that they received investment proposals worth Rs 66,000 crore within a period of around one year as well as 1,455 industrial units have also started their operations
