DC B’gam presides over Public Outreach Prog at Block Soibugh

DM calls for involvement of PRIs, youth & senior citizens in framework of any dev plan

Budgam: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, S F Hamid attended a public interaction programme of Soibugh Block of the district held at Panchayat Soibugh, here on Tuesday. A large gathering of people assembled at the venue to apprise the DC about their issues.
Speaking on the occasion, S F Hamid stressed on strict implementation of all Government schemes to ensure welfare of the public at large.
He said the government has been generous to provide every possible facility to each household be it roads, water supply connections or electricity.
The DC said, Budgam is the first district to launch a door to door awareness regarding online revenue services. He said people do not have to run from pillar to post to get their work done and urged public to avail the benefits of online services
He further stressed officers to work on exploring the tourism potential of all the blocks of the district and said that Budgam has a huge potential of tourism that can provide employment and upgrade the socio-economic status of the people.
He asked officers to hold festivals and carnivals to attract tourists besides exploring the tourism potential.
The DC also urged the officers to ensure the ongoing projects are completed well in time with priority to education and healthcare.
Speaking on the cleanliness of the block, the DC congratulated the people of the area for maintaining environment cleanliness.
He said PRIs, youth and senior citizens have to play a major role for implementation of the rural sanitation programme. He also stressed on devising village specific waste management programmes and ensuring solid waste is disposed-off properly. He said each panchayat should select persons who will be responsible to make each village waste free
The DC said our youth is our future, administration is there to support and nurture them. He said a camp shall be conducted here in this panchayat for registration of all the unemployed youth, so that specific fields of their choice will be given to them.
It is apt to mention that a special focus is being laid on sanitation in Panchayats and Rs 2 lakh has been provided to every panchayat to clean the drains and rivulets besides dumping the garbage at suitable places.
On the occasion, many demands were raised by the public of the area such as expedition of execution work on degree college Soibugh, self employment for the youth, upgradation of PHC Soibugh, development of play field.etc
The DC gave patient hearing to the audience and assured them that their grievances will be taken to logical conclusion.
Besides, District Social Welfare Officer, Principal Degree College Soibugh, TehsildarBudgam, AD Planning and other District and sectoral officers were present in the meeting.
