Kulgam : Kulgam district has once again demonstrated its sports prowess as its athletes brought home Gold medal from the 7th South Asian Sqay Championship and Tri-Nation International 2023 held in Kathmandu, Nepal. The championship was held from February 3 to 6.
Mariyam Sahar, a 9th class student, from Brazloo area in Kulgam of South Kashmir bagged a gold medal in National Sqay Championship.
Mariyam sahar achieved the gold medal in National Sqay Championship that was played last week in Kathmandu Nepal fighting against all odds.Due to lack of facilities she didn’t stop her from achieving her dream. The love towards Sqay made her win gold medal. Mariyam is a talented and ambitious girl studying in 9th class at Radiant Public School Anantnag. Her long term ambition is to become an good athlete. “Mariyam is a talented girl and we are very happy about her performance but we appeal to the government to help her. So that in future she will play more and show her talent on international level,” said her relative.
