Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested two accused for illegally procuring/selling Kerosene oil in Beerwah district Budgam..
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the PS Beerwah received inputs through reliable sources about illegal procurement of Kerosene oild from illicit channels by of some unknown persons at Ganai Mohalla Beerwah and selling the same to one Mushtaq Ahmad Ganai S/O Ali Muhammad Ganai R/O Ganai Mohalla Beerwah at his residential premises.
Stating that on receipt of this information a police party of Police Station Beerwah along with Executive Magistrate raided the specific spot and seized a vehicle (Tata-mobile) bearing registration number JK04E-5086 loaded with three barrels containing approximately 300 litres of illegally procured Kerosene oil from the residential premises of Mushtaq Ahmad Ganie, Police in it’s statement further said that the accused driver of said vehicle identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Rahim Wani resident of Lawarmunda Qazigund alongwith accused Mushtaq Ahmad Ganie were arrested on the spot, Stating therein further that accordingly a case vide FIR No. 26/2023 has been registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Beerwah and investigation has been also initiated.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement Police said that people found indulging in illegal activities shall be dealt with as per law and also appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
