Pulwama : The Department of AYUSH/ ISM on Tuesday organised Health Melas across all Health and Wellness Centers (H&WCs) in the district.
During the Melas, various activities were conducted like Cyclothon-Cycling Rallies, Yoga Sessions, Teleconsultation, NikshayPoshanAbhiyan, NCD screening and distribution of Albendazole among Children, generation of ABHA cards undertaken as part of these health melas.
Meanwhile various activities were also carried out to promote and enhance awareness regarding physical /mental well-being.
Speaking on the occasion, a senior doctor from the AYUSH department said that the aim of these health melas is to deliver a range of comprehensive health care services like maternal and child health services to address communicable and non-communicable diseases and services for elderly and palliative care.
AB-HWCs provide free essential medicines and diagnostic services, tele-consultation, and health promotion including wellness activities like Yoga, he added.
The Melas witnessed overwhelming participation of locals who availed the facility of free medical facilities.
