Kupwara: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Dr.Doifode Sagar Dattatray on Tuesday stressed on enhancing credit flow under different government sponsored schemes and programmes to generate employment avenues for the unemployed youth in the district.
The DC said this after inaugurating the branch office of JK Grameen Bank to its new premises at KanthiporaLolab along with SSP KupwaraYougal Kumar Manhas.
Mir Parvaiz Ahmad General Manager Kashmir, Zahid Imran Nengroo, Regional Manager Kupwara, RizwanMajeed District Manager Advances and other concerned officers were present at the inaugural function.
The DC Kupwara asked bank authorities to contribute to the economic upliftment of the rural youth and farmers by providing banking solutions and accessibility to government sponsored schemes like PMEGP (Prime Minister’s employment Generation programme JKREGP (Jammu and Kashmir Rural employment generation programme), and other self employment schemes.
DrDoifodeSagar said that Grameen bank branch at its new premises will bring the best banking services to the doorsteps of the people in the area and would cater to all basic banking needs.
A large gathering of locals also attended the function.
Mission of the Bank is to fulfill the credit needs of the relatively un-served sections in the rural areas, small and marginal farmers, agricultural labourers and socio-economically weaker sections.
On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Bank authorities passed directions for installation of Micro ATM at Branch Kanthipora and the same will be made functional by tomorrow.
