Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested an absconder who was evading his arrest from last 20 years in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar police said that it received a non-bailable warrant from the Court of Principal Session Judge Pulwama against an accused namely Manzoor Ahmad Bhat S/O Gh Mohd Bhat R/O Reshipora who was evading his arrest for the last 20 years, involved in case FIR No. 96/1997 of Police Station Awantipora.
Stating that it accordingly constituted a special team under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora and the accused person was arrested from Reshipora area and subsequently, the arrested accused was produced before the Court of Law, Police in it’s statement further said that the court of law ordered to lodge the said absconder in District Sub Jail Pulwama.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement police said that it has been making every possible effort to keep society free of crime. Police in it’s statement also resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities.
