Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested one person and also seized a vehicle involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the officers from PP Mirgund seized a vehicle (tractor) involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from government land at Diver Yakhmanpora Pattan, Stating therein further that the accused driver involved in the commission of crime has been arrested andidentified as Mohamad Yaseen Dar S/o Mohammad Yousuf Dar R/o Yakhmanpora Pattan.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law has also been registered and investigation has been taken up, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement said that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
