Extortionist arrested in Pulwama : Police

Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested an extortionist along with fake weapons, who was impersonating as a militant in South Kashmir’s Pulwama District.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters, Srinagar Police said that PS Rajpora received a written complaint from a person (name withheld) who alleged therein that at about 1930hrs while on way to home from his clinic, he was intercepted by an unknown person who threatened him with weapon and demanded money & other valuable items, Stating therein further that the accused person fled away from the spot by taking his wallet containing cash Rs3300/- and his mobile phone.
Stating that a case vide FIR No. 8/2023 was accordingly registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Rajpora and investigation was initiated, Police in it’s statement also said that during the course of investigation, few suspects were rounded up and called for questioning and during investigation one suspect identified as Adil Ahmad Dar son of MohdYousuf Dar resident of Bellow Pulwama confessed his involvement in the said crime.
Police in it’s statement furthermore said that on the disclosure of the said accused the investigating team recovered 02 toy pistols, three wallets, one Redmi Mobile phone, Cash ₹3330, 01 JK Bank ATM, Aadhaar card, SBI ATM Card, Driving Licence, Pan Card, Election Card and JioSim card belonging to the complainant, Stating there in also that further investigation into the case is going on.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police assured the people that it will act tough against the elements involved in any kind of criminal activities and appealed them to come forward and bring any such incident in the notice of local Police.
