3 drug peddlers held in Kulgam, G’bal, Contraband substances also recovered : Police

Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested three drug peddlers in Kulgam and Ganderbal districts and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Qazigund at a checkpoint established at Bonigam Qazigund, intercepted 2 suspicious persons who on seeing the police party tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully, Stating therein further that during searches 75grams of Charas was recovered from the possession of the said accused identified as Mansoor Ali Najar S/o Ali Mohmad Najar and Bilal Ahmad Wagay S/o Abdul Rehman Wagay, both residents of Vessu Qazigund and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Stating that in a similar action in Ganderbal a police party led by SHO PS Kangan Insp. Zahoor Turk under the supervision of SDPO Kangan Muzaffar Jan at a checkpoint established at Chinner intercepted a suspicious person coming from Wussan side towards Kangan who on seeing police party tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully by alert police party. Stating that during checking, officers recovered contraband substance from the possession of the said accused identified as Farooq Ahmad Khan S/o Noor Mohd Khan R/o Bela Wassan and shifted to police station where he remains in custody, Police in it’s statement further said that police accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law in respective police stations &investigations have been initiated.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement Police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood and reiterated that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
