Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla district and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of PS Tangmarg under the supervision of SHO PS Tangmarg at a checkpoint established at Zeeran Crossing Tangmarg intercepted two suspicious persons who on seeing police party tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully.
Stating that during searches 180grams of Charas was recovered from the possession of the said accused identified as Abdul Rashid Sheikh S/o Ghulam Ahmad Sheikh R/o Khamimderpora and Mushtaq Ahmad Mir S/o Habibullah Mir R/o Ratnipora and shifted to police station where they remain in custody, Police in it’s above referred statement further said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Tangmarg and investigation has been also initiated.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and reiterated that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
