A Damaged Ecological System

Every effort is made to complete the project at the earliest and no attention is paid to the damage being done to the ecological system. If ever any organization or intelligentsia raises any voice against this rude behaviour of the construction agencies with Mother Nature they are either labeled as the enemies of the development. Now the time has come to stand against such development, which becomes the anti-nature and anti-living creatures. If the matter becomes an issue and attracts the attention of a large chunk of the people then certain cover up activities are carried out. Most of the people, as propagated by the government and the real beneficiaries, are swayed by the propaganda that yes this will result in their massive development are not aware enough of the consequences of such huge destruction. The real beneficiaries are aware that the devastating consequences of this destruction being carried out in the name of development will in no way be harmful for them and for their business. We should must aware ourselves in related to such sensitive issue, which is the focal point to save the nature. Cloud bursts and landslides always create havoc for the locals, for the people living in that region, but they never understand. This year the cloud bursts and landslides have so far claimed several innocent lives and have also destroyed or damaged property worth crores of rupees. Most scary is the cloud bust near Holy Cave of Amarnath. This must be taken as a warning and the government and other concerned agencies and associations including ‘Langar’ association must sit together and take a decision to curtail the period and number of devotees for Amarnath Yatra before it is permanently blocked or stopped by Nature. Similarly, we have to curtail our greed for earning more and more money by destroying the ecological system in the hilly areas. If at all the development, including construction of roads and structures is very necessary then a plan of deforestation, planting five times more trees then they have to cut and proper fixation of the soil cut or dug for the project.
Himachal and Uttarakhand are paying heavily as they gave priority to development over ecology and now Jammu and Kashmir, if follows the same pattern, may have to pay very big rice for the destruction of the most sensitive ecological system of the Himalayn. The nature has its own way to work and perform its own duty only to serve to serve the entire world. It is the nature only which caters the need of the every living creatures including human beings but the human beings are reacting very unwisely over the issue of nature and its ecological system resulting in very critical and drastic outcome, which can damage the life of every living creatures and for this only human being is responsible. The disturbance created by the humans for the lust and greed has infuriated the nature in every part of the world but especially in India it is worse than the universe. But we people are taking it very lightly in every step despite the several warnings from the nature itself besides some people related with nature study are also issuing the warnings through media and other ways but we do not adhere to the warnings and precautions. In the present days the cloud bursts are increasing with passing days but no one has focussed on it and tries to ascertain the reasons. Though cloud bursts and landslides are not new phenomena in the world yet these can be avoided and minimized but no person has taken this issue seriously or on priority. There have been a long history attached with them but the increase in the frequency of such incidents has undoubtedly increased after the process of modern development was taken rigorously. It is directly indicating that our modern development has adverse impact on the nature’s process and we have to twist our ways in the case of development. No doubt, without development the survival is difficult but the development should be nature-friendly and not anti nature. This is the truth, where we have to reach and work out for it. The nature is the mother of everyone and it is the creature of everything as we get the raw material from the nature but we neither understood the reality of the nature nor we tried to understand the reality of nature. The mountains, hills and other places which are sloppy are raided by the government and other concerned governments and now also by private houses and agencies like invaders in the name of development. People of such regions are given a lollypop of development in their hands and the process of devastating the ecology begins with celebrations and grand foundation stones laying ceremonies at the hands of VIP’s.
