MD-DLTF meet held at Kulgam: ADC stresses for zero tolerance against illegal mining

Kulgam: A meeting of Multi Departmental District level Task force (MD-DLTF) was held on Friday at mini-secretariat, here under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kulgam, Viqar Ahmed Giri to discuss various issues regarding illegal mining.
During the meeting, DMO KulgamKhurshid Ahmad apprised the chair about status of leased out Minor Mineral Blocks, Revenue figures achieved and seizures/ penalties etc carried in 2022-23.
He also shared vulnerable spots wherein illegal activities are being carried out in odd hours.
The ADC contemplated the role of stakeholder departments and members of MD-DLTF viz-a-viz the essence of curbing all illegal mining activities and directions in this regard were passed to all participants for formulation of a comprehensive mechanism to counter the menace.
He impressed upon all stakeholder departments to exhibit zero tolerance against the illegal mining and work in close coordination to curb illegal mining activities in the district.
The meeting was attended by ACR Kulgam, Ex- Engineers of Irrigation & Flood Control, PHE and R&B departments, DFO, Tehsildars, Dy.SP, AD Fisheries, DO Pollution and other concerned.
