Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has recovered a kidnapped minor girl and arrested 3 accused persons involved in the commission of crime in Pulwama.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Police Station Rajpora on 29th January received a written complaint from a resident of Sonabanjer Khaigam who alleged there in that his daughter aged about 15years has been kidnapped by three persons namely Sharief Ahmad AwanS/o Mohd Ismail Awan, Sajad Ahmad Awan, Javaid Ahmad Awan, both sons of Sharif Ahmad Awan, all residents of Pahlipora Keller.
Stating that following the said complaint a case vide FIR No. 07/23 was registered under relevant sections of law in PS Rajpora and investigation was initiated, Police in it’s above referred statement further said that during the course of investigation, a special Police team was constituted to trace out the kidnapped girl, Stating therein further that the investigating team while acting swiftly, raided various suspected locations. Police in it’s statement furthermore said that after strenuous efforts, the special team recovered the kidnapped girl from village Hergam Keller area of Shopian within hours after the complaint was registered and all the accused persons involved in the commission of crime were also arrested.In the concluding para of the above quoted statement Police said that after fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs.
