Pariksha Pe Charcha: PM’s Outreach To Students, Teachers

Prime Minister’s outreach to teachers and students through a popular public contact program “Pariksha-Pe-Charcha” undoubtedly gives an opportunity to both the students and teachers to share their experiences about the implementation of New Education Policy-2020 with Prime Minister of the country. Since Prime launched this program with students and teachers immediately after the introduction of National Education Policy-2020 and for the last two years it is being held annually, the motive behind PM’s “Pariksha Pe-Charcha” program apparently is to get a feedback about the ideas and responses of both the students and teachers about the implementation of New Education Policy.  The program could bring a pragmatic change in the education system and working of schools if such direct outreach programs are held simultaneously by the officers controlling the education department in states and Union Territories and even in provinces, districts and education zones at the grass root level.  Since experiences show that the conveniences of both the teachers and students and availability of basic infrastructural facilities in schools are the building blocks of the entire education system in Jammu & Kashmir, the program could be used for improving the standards of basic facilities in both Government and private schools in Jammu & Kashmir. While enrolment in Government schools is an issue of concern for the School Education Department in Jammu & Kashmir, the admissions and the fee structure in private schools are the two biggest issues of concern for the parents whose children are admitted in private schools. While the School Education Department is pursuing vehemently enrolment drive in Government run schools, it does not give adequate immediate attention to the bigger issue of basic infrastructural facilities in Government run schools which could hopefully divert the attention of people from private to Government run schools.

“Since both the students and parents have their own reasons for not sharing the experiences of either the admissions and fee structure in private schools and lack of infrastructural facilities in Government run schools during“Pariksha-Pe-Charcha” with the Prime Minister  , the involvement of the parents in Prime Minister’s in Prime Minister’s program  “ Pariksha Pe-Charcha”  could hopefully bring about a perceptible change in the education system in Jammu & Kashmir”.

Never forget that better infrastructural facilities and availability of better trained teachers alone can make the Government’s enrolment drive a big success and trigger a phase of competition between private and Government run schools in Jammu & Kashmir.  Even the teachers of Government schools can be motivated to admit their wards at Government run schools if the basic infrastructural facilities are improved in Government run schools both in urban and rural areas of Jammu & Kashmir. Leaving the issues of admissions and fee structure in private schools unattended and attending vehemently the issue of enrolment drive but not the availability of basic infrastructural facilities in Government run schools is a bad omen for the development of education system in Jammu & Kashmir. Since both the students and parents have their own reasons for not sharing the experiences of either the admissions and fee structure in private schools and lack of infrastructural facilities in Government run schools during“Pariksha-Pe-Charcha” with the Prime Minister, the involvement of the parents in Prime Minister’s in Prime Minister’s program “ Pariksha Pe-Charcha”  could hopefully bring about a perceptible change in the education system in Jammu & Kashmir.
