Republic Day: SSP Security Jammu issues guidelines for visitors

Jammu: Security Jammu has issued guidelines for people participating in the Republic Day celebration this year.
In this regard, Senior Superintendent of Police, Security Jammu, Swarn Singh Kotwal, Thursday issued a detailed information regarding do’s and dont’s for general public in connection with observance of national event in the region.
He said that great public participation is expected in the Republic Day function on 26th January, 2023 so the Security Jammu has sought cooperation from the visitors to facilitate their safe and comfortable entry and partaking in the event at M A Stadium.
As per a public notice issued in this regard, the public has been asked not to carry cell phone, camera, arms/ammunition, sharp edged weapons, hand bags, polythene bags, transistor, toys, tools, stop watch, any kind of powder, inflammable material like cigarettes, match boxes and lighter and related objectionable items while entering into the venue.
The general public has further been advised to extend full co-operation to the frisking/checking teams deployed at different gates, which is in fact meant for their own safety and peaceful culmination of the Republic Day function. Besides, the expected visitors have also been asked to maintain queue while entering the gates through Door Frame Metal Detector installed at the gates and avoid un-necessary altercation with security personnel.
The notice has also advised the public to ensure their presence well in time so that they could enter the venue and be seated comfortably without any inconvenience. “Do not hesitate to disclose your identity in case you are requested for the same by security personnel or the uniformed police personnel”, notice explained to general public.
It was informed that proper parking slots have been earmarked for all categories/types of vehicles. the public can seek help from Traffic Police personnel for parking of their vehicles at the appropriate parking places.
Security Jammu has fervently appealed the public to immediately inform the police personnel on duty in case of any suspicious person or item is noticed without touching the same.
