DC Bla inagurates Sanitary Napkin Incinerator & Vending Machine at Bla

Says ‘initiatives being taken to saturate all Schools under said Facility’

Baramulla: The Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihood Mission (JKRLM) in collaboration with Vatsalya Foundation, a Non-Government Organisation Baramulla on Thursday installed Vending and Incinerator machines in various schools at Baramulla here under Aspirational District Programme.
The Vending and Automatic Sanitary Incinerator Machines were inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish at Government High School, Deewan Bagh. After inauguration of the unit, the DC said that this project will simultaneously help in spreading awareness on the benefits of adopting hygienic practices and overcoming problems of availability and affordability of sanitary napkins to women in the area.
She further said that this is a much needed initiative that will help serve a key area of women’s health, and therefore will be of immense benefit to the overall community. While briefing with regard to the installation of Machines in Education institutions, the DC informed that initiatives are being taken to saturate all schools across the district with Vending and Incinerator machines. She further said that out of 232 identified Higher Secondaries, a total of 209 schools have already been saturated with the machines while as remaining 26 schools will be covered by the February 2022.
