Doda: A meeting of District Development Council (DDC) Doda was held here on Thursday under the chairmanship of its chairman, Dhananter Singh Kotwal.
Among others, the meeting was attended by DDC Vice Chairperson, Additional District Development Commissioner, CPO Doda, DDC Members, and BDC Chairpersons.
CEO of the Council (ADDC) Doda apprised the Council about the guidelines for the formulation of the plans under the District Capex budget 2023-24. The meeting discussed threadbare the developmental scenario of the district.
The Chairman urged the councillors and BDC Chairpersons to maintain close coordination with the officers and project only feasible developmental works as per the norms of the scheme. He asked them to submit technically feasible works for the approval from the competent authority by or before 31st of January. He further asked them not to take works, which can be covered/ taken up under other government sponsored schemes. He also urged them to take up community benefit works, with the scope of inter block or inter panchayat coverage, depending upon their requirement in the area.
The Chairman stressed that end result on ground must benefit the general public and avoid individual benefit works.
Members and Chairpersons were asked to utilize the grants judiciously in high priority sectors in coordination with the line departments. Dhananter Singh said that the council was committed to make possible, the fruits of new era of development reach to the last man in the last row.
